If you"re looking for a detailed biography of this great man look elswhere. If you"re looking for insight into the life of a Buddhist monk this is for you. The film is subtle in its messages và themes but it is beautifully shot and edited. It will pull you into the moment.

So going in, know that this is not a traditional documentary. You are not going lớn hear Thich Nhat Hanh"s life story, or see his decades of peace work and teaching.Instead you"re treated to a clip mediation, a subdued & poignant exploration of who he is through his quiet and resolute presence , and a loving view of the daily lives of many of the monks, nuns, và laypeople who follow him. Even Benedict Cumberbatch"s occasional readings from Thay"s journals are more part of a visual & auditory experience of what this man and his religious teaching is than a narrative.Watch this for a beautiful & honest depiction of a modern Buddhist master, community & experience.

This is fantastic. The first hour allows the viewer to experience the pace of life at Plum Village. There"s not a lot of noisy dialogue, so you can imagine what it might be like to meditate there. In the last half hour, the film documents the monastics" travels outside the monastery -- so "practical applications" are present too, if that"s of interest. I watched the film in bite kích thước pieces, as I have read the books, because (for me) there is so much lớn process and learn. The last half an hour is the segment most like the trailer.

This is an beautiful movie once you understand what it is about. It is not a biography of Thich Nhat Hanh. It is about the life of monastics (primarily situated in Plum Village) who come from very diverse backgrounds but are united in their desire to follow the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh. It also provides a glimpse of the profound effect that attending a retreat has on the lives of lay people. It is very candid, poignant, & sometimes even amusing. It is well worth the time khổng lồ watch in our busy, overstimulated lives. Give it a chance.
This was an excellent movie, và I greatly enjoyed it. I watched it with a friend, and he understood more why I enjoy meditation so much.
